The National Museum in Prague (the main building) is located at the Wenceslas Square. But, due to reconstruction work this has been closed since July 7th in 2011. Hopefully the building will be restored and ready for visitors again by 2015.
In the meantime it is possible to open the new building of the National Museum which is located by the metro stop Muzeum on line 1 and 3. The museum is open every day, normally between 10.00 and 18.00. The basic entrance fee is 100 CZK per person, though discounts are available for students, pensioners and children. If you would like to take pictures or film inside the National Museum, special fees apply for this.
The building of the new national museum has formerly served as Prague Stock Exchange, as Parliament and as Radio Studio. It has been in the position of the National Museum since 2009.
