Rudolf II exhibitionThe exhibition ‘The Masters of Rudolf II’s Era’ is shown at the Prague City Museum until the end of March this year. ‘The Masters of Rudolf II’s Era’ exhibition shows a wide range of various art works such as paintings and drawings of the collection of Rudolf II.

The famous art collection of Rudolf II used to be the largest art collection that ever existed but after the death of the emperor most of the collection was replaced to Vienna and some of the paintings were brought to Sweden to please Queen Christina. At the exhibition ‘The Masters of Rudolf II’s Era’ visitors have the chance to discover the most outstanding items of the collection of the emperor. At the exhibition art works of the most famous and influential painters of this era are on display such as Bartholomeus Spranger, Hans von Aachen, Joseph Heintz the Elder, Pieter Stevens, Dirk de Quade van Ravesteyn, Matthias Gundelach and Adriaen de Vries. Apart from these several other images are shown to the visitors which were added by the Prague City Museum.

The exhibition ‘The Masters of Rudolf II’s Era’ takes place from 12th November 2014 to 29th March 2015 at the Prague City Museum.

Prague Marathon 2015

Prague MarathonOne of the most interesting and most charming city in Europe without any questions is Prague. Prague is the capital and also the largest city of the Czech Republic and it is often called the ‘Golden City’. On May 3rd in 2015 it is time for the annual Prague Marathon again in this beautiful city!

Prague gives home to some of the most beautiful cultural attractions which attracts thousands of people from all over the world. Alongside the attractions in the city plenty of various programs and activities are waiting for the visitors during the whole year. One of the most popular event in the life of the city is the Prague Marathon. The annual Prague Marathon is an international sport event which is considered one of the best marathons in Europe. Every year the Prague Marathon takes place around the Prague Spring Festival. The race starts at the Old Town Square in the heart of the city and leads around the most beautiful spots and narrow streets of the city including the famous Charles Bridge. After the runners cross the Charles Bridge the race sneaks through the Old Town and crosses the Vlatva river several times. The race also goes through the modern part and areas of the city and it ends at the Old Town Square again. The Prague Marathon is all together 26 miles which mostly leads through flat course. This year the International Prague Marathon will be held on 3rd May in 2015 and the race starts at 9 in the morning. The main goal of the marathon is to finish the race within 7 hours.

Exhibition on William Hogarth

The exhibition ‘The Transformation of William Hogarth. The Excess of Misery’ is shown at the National Gallery in Prague from the end of last year until the beginning of March 2015.

The National Gallery presents an exhibition on one of the most outstanding artists of Europe, William Hogarth. William Hogarth was born in 1697 and he died in 1764. He was an English painter, printmaker, satirist and cartoonist who was one of the founding figures of the modern European art and he laid the foundations of the modern caricature in Europe. He had a great impact on the development of art and on the upcoming generations as well. At the exhibition visitors will have the chance to discover the most famous art works of the artists which were mostly inspired by the topics of crime, violence, alcoholism, punishment which shows the life and the problems of society of the 18th century in London which are still relevant today as well. It is the first time the National Gallery in Prague dedicates a whole exhibition only for William Hogarth and his art works. The exhibition on William Hogarth is shown from 4th December 2014 until 8th March 2015 at the National Gallery in Prague.

Ice skating in Prague

There are plenty of programs and different activities in the capital of the Czech Republic in Prague and Prague is one of the most visited European cities which attracts thousands and millions of people each year. Ice Skating Prague
No matter which time of the year you visit Prague there will be always something going on in the city. If you like ice skating then the new ice skating rink is one of the best choice for you during a visit in Prague. A new ice skating ring has just opened last year at Christmas in the city.

The new ice skating rink takes place at Žižkov TV Tower which is open every day from Monday to Sunday. The cheapest ticket is for € 2.5 and the most expensive is for € 5. The prices are depend on the day and time of day you want to visit the ice rink, at the weekend and on Friday it is more expensive than in the beginning of the week on Monday morning or on Tuesday morning.

The ice skating rink opened on December 25th in 2014 and will be open until March 31st in 2015.

Carnival in Prague in 2015

The Carnevale Praha will be back in town again this year from the beginning of February to the middle of February. The carnival takes place all over Prague at different spots in the city.

The Carnevale Praha is one of the largest outdoor event in the life of the city and its history rooted back to long time to the medieval times. Each year the city turns into a big carnival in February and the Carnevale Praha is all about celebrating the human joy. The event takes place everywhere in the city in places such as theatres, galleries, museums, schools, restaurants, shops and workshops as well. The festival is held annually in Prague and it is one of the most popular festivals in the city which attracts thousands of people each year. The Carnevale Praha is inspired by the colourful festival which was held in Bohemia during the Baroque era.

Following the old traditions at this special time of the year whole Prague turns into a big and vibrant carnival. During the Carnevale Praha plenty of programs and various activities will be held such as different concerts, dance, theatre performances, masked balls, children’s ball, workshops and many more.

This year the Carnevale Praha will take place from 6th February to 17th February 2015.

Grand Restaurant FestivalThe Grand Restaurant Festival will be back to town again this year from the middle of January to the end of February. This will be the 6th time the Grand Restaurant Festival will open its gates again not only in Prague but in the whole Czech Republic.

The Grand Restaurant Festival is one of the largest gastronomic festivals in the Czech Republic which became extremely popular in no time. Top events in Prague in 2015

Ed Sheeran concert Prague 2015

Ed SheeranEd Sheeran will visit the capital of Czech Republic during his concert tour and he will give his concert in the beginning of next year. Ed Sheeran is an English singer and songwriter and he came out with his first album in 2011.

From the “+” album The A Team and Lego House were number one hits on several charts. His second studio album the “x” album was released in the middle of this year, in 2014. Ed Sheeran got world wide known when he was a guest singer on Taylor Swift’s fourth studio album, on Red and after this in no time Ed Sheeran became one of the most popular and successful singers world wide. Since the end of summer this year Ed Sheeran is on his second world tour (“x” tour) and with the tour he will visit multiple countries all over the world from Europe through Australia to North America. Ed Sheeran will give a concert in the Czech Republic as well.

The concert will take place in Prague at the Forum Karlin and the concert will be held on Thursday 12th February in 2015. Tickets for the concerts are already available.
