One of the nicest places to go during a trip to Prague is to the Petrin Hill. Here you can enjoy a fantastic view, fresh air, great activities, and of course, the opportunity to climb the Eiffel tower of Prague, the Petrin Lookout Tower.

During the autumn of 2024, Europe was hit by heavy rainfall. This caused floods all across Europe, especially in cities such as Vienna and Budapest, but also in Prague. Among others, the heavy rainfall caused great damage to the funicular connecting the Petrin Hill to Újezd. It was planned to close the funicular for renovation work in March 2025, but due to the heavy rainfall and the damage it caused on the track, they were forced to close it down during the autumn of 2024 already.

As a result, the renovation work on the track is already taking place and it is expected to last for nearly two years. In other words, the work started during the autumn of 2024 and it is expected to last until the summer of 2026. Until then, we recommend visitors to visit the Petrin Hill on foot.
